GMS Security deployed to assist visitors and protect artefacts at the RAF Museum London.

  • 24-hour security solution; personnel, technology and keyholding services
  • Protection of both visitor welfare and historic artefacts
  • 3-year contract initially (live as of 1st February 2025)

Midlands, UK – 10/02/2025 GMS Security Services Ltd, market leaders in innovation, service and delivery, has been selected by the RAF Museum to enhance their visitor experience and protect historic artefacts. This is achieved by deploying trained and engaging GMS personnel on the museum floor to assist visitors with their enquiries during daytime, and to protect the artefacts and deal with any maintenance issues overnight. Advanced surveillance technology is also used to protect both the welfare of visitors and the intrinsic value of historic artefacts.

Unlike many of its competitors, GMS Security were able to provide an agile security solution tailored to the specific requirements of the RAF Museum. High on the requirements list was the ability to integrate personnel with the RAF Museum’s own volunteers to provide a coherent visitor experience team. Furthermore, the RAF Museum sought a specialist partner that could deliver contemporary security solutions.

“GMS engaged a site-based leader to ensure that all staff are trained to the highest of standards to protect the Royal Air Force Museum brand.” said GMS CEO, Neil Male. “We are delighted to add the RAF Museum to our list of prestigious clients, especially as GMS is a Silver Armed Forces Covenant Employer.”

“The RAF Museum is committed to providing an outstanding visitor experience while ensuring the protection of our invaluable artefacts and people. Partnering with GMS Security allows us to enhance both visitor engagement and site security through a tailored approach that aligns with our values and operational needs. We look forward to working together to maintain a safe, welcoming, and immersive environment for all who come to explore the story of the Royal Air Force.” added The RAF Museum London and Midlands Head of Operations, Alan Edwards.
