When your company through you makes an enquiry of us generally or through our website or when we market to your employer/ company or in our initial and/or day to day dealings with your employer/ company we will process your personal data.
By doing so we GMS Group of Companies and all associated parts of the Group (including GMS Security Services Ltd, GMS Property Services Ltd, GMS Recovery Services Ltd, GMS Technology Services Ltd and GMS Caretaking Services Ltd) will be a ‘controller’ of this personal data (your ‘information’).

Why we process your information
We process officer and employee information for various purposes such as:
- To ascertain who to contact within a company to see if your employer/ company have a need for our services and to make contact with you with a view to marketing our services to your employer/ company.
- To onboard your employer/ company as a customer of ours.
- To facilitate our day-to-day business relationship by:
- Communicating with your employer/ company through you
- Providing services to your employer/ company
- Sharing your information (such as contact details) with others were necessary.
- Invoicing your employer/ company
- Ensuring your employer/ company are happy with the service provided and potentially cross selling other services to your company
How we lawfully process your information
We process your information as it is necessary to further the legitimate interests of your employer/ company and ours – the generation of new business for the benefit of both organisations, to onboard your employer/ company as a customer and to successfully manage and provide a day-to-day service.
Who might we pass your information on to?
We may (only where there is a need to do so) share some of your information with others such as the emergency services (in the event of a security incident) or our insurers or with a debt collection agency if an invoice remained unpaid.
How long will you store my information for?
We will generally retain information relating to our relationship with your employer/ company for 8 years for contractual and audit purposes. We keep the issue of what information is retained under review and will only keep your information where we need to.
What are my rights?
Under certain circumstances you have the right to request access to your information; correction of any inaccurate information we hold about you; erasure of your information; restriction of our processing of your information and to object to any processing by us that we purport to process in our legitimate interests. Complaints
If you are concerned about our use of your information, please speak with us initially as we may be able to resolve your concern. You do have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner but only after you have raised matters with us and given us the opportunity to respond.
