Whether you’re a commercial or domestic user, we all want to reduce the cost of our energy bills.
GMS Recovery have a dedicated team who specialise in utility management, with 32 years combined experience there isn’t much they don’t know.
Here are some quick, no-cost tips for lowering your energy bills…
Supply regular meter reads
If you don’t have a Smart meter, make sure you supply regular meter reads to ensure you are only paying for what you’re using
Always search the market for the best tariff available
Don’t be afraid to switch supplier at the end of your contract term if your current supplier isn’t the most competitive
You may not have to wait 12 months to switch
If you are on a variable tariff, you are free to switch supplier any time and agree a fixed term contract. When comparing rates, don’t forget it isn’t just the unit rate, there is also a daily standing charge too
Conduct energy audits
Nominate a person within your workplace for reviewing potential savings such as unplugging unused items, equipment left on standby, switching off the lights in meeting rooms which aren’t being used etc
Use natural light when you can
At home we are more inclined to use natural light but at work we automatically switch the lights on when we arrive in the morning
Turn down your thermostat by 1 degree
You’ll save on average £80 per year and won’t even notice the reduced temperature
