Regardless of your previous work experience or academic achievements, we are looking for enthusiastic and professional individuals who are diligent, customer focussed and have a good eye for detail to come and work in security roles.
Depending on your eligibility, we can offer a fully funded four-week training programme, based at Sandwell College which includes your SIA Licence for newcomers into the industry.
The course includes:
SIA Level 2 Door Supervisor
Disability awareness
Customer Service training
Manual Handling Awareness
Food Hygiene Level 2
ACT Awareness

What if I have other commitments and can’t attend a four-week full-time training programme?
We have a programme available to women with childcare commitments to attend 10am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday instead, based at Sandwell College.
I don’t have experience as a security officer. Can I still apply?
Yes! The training course is designed for those who have not previously worked in the security industry.
Am I guaranteed a job afterwards?
If successful following the course, you will have the opportunity to work at one of the venues involved in delivering the largest multi-sport event in Birmingham and the West Midlands in the summer of 2022.
Can I get permanent work in security afterwards?
Yes! If you have the will to succeed, we have plenty of opportunities for permanent positions within our company.
There are also hundreds of other security roles available through lots of other private security companies.
What can I expect as a GMS employee?
Our personnel working at Commonwealth Games venues can expect complete support from job application through to their first day on the job.
